Just looking at home education for DD who is 11.

She is a really bright girl but due to anxiety, social phobia and possibly Aspergers, she is just not settling at secondary school.
Any advice from anyone please?
I've spent all of her primary years trying to fit into the social 'norm' to go to school, but it's really affecting her mental health now.

Hi. I’m a maths teacher in a state secondary. During lockdown I taught every timetabled lesson online. I found the more quiet puplils really excelled. As they had security in their home environment. I also have taught privately an Asperger child in a group and they enjoyed the online class as there was less distraction. I hope this helps.

Hi Serendipity my daughter has ASD and it all came to a head in secondary school as the demands became too much. She has been doing InterHigh since March. It is much better for her mental health. She was at a selective school and says the lessons were much more interesting there but that that was part of the problem as it was too much.

I was reluctant to home school but it has been much less stressful and InterHigh have been responsive to her anxiety.
