Home schooling

Good morning I am looking for home ed groups in Suffolk and would love to hear from others who are educating their children at home and about resources and groups that I can join to help us. My daughter is at mainstream at the moment but has been school refusing for about 3 months now and I am considering home school as I think this may be the best way forward for her but I am terrified of the prospect. Help,,,

I don't live in your area, but facebook have lots of regional clubs and support groups that meet in the real world. You could perhaps try there? Lots of people have feelings of terror about home schooling, and I know I did. However, it was the best decision I made, especially for my youngest child who suffered badly in primary school. It's a great idea to meet up with other local families! They can offer support and encouragement for you, social and educational activities for your daughter if and when she feels ready to do things with groups of kids, and tips on local resources and places to visit. You will find other families who have been in a similar situation to yours. I'm sure that will help reassure you.

Facebook is the easiest way to find home educating families. If you go on Facebook and type in its search bar "home education" followed by the name of your town or county or nearest big town, you will find something.

I see that the FB group "Home education Suffolk" has nearly a thousand members and is open to people who are seriously considering home ed. (Some groups aren't.)
