Hello,

We are probably going to start HS in September for DS aged 15.

He has just completed year 10 but I think it would be best he still takes 2 more years to do his gcses.

He has ASD, anxiety and a chronic illness and has struggled in school plus missed a lot of school this year.

We are abroad so have no other bricks and mortar school as an alternative.

I don’t think online schooling would suit him due to the need to follow the class at a precise time each day so we are looking at studying by correspondence. He has a curious mind and is constantly educating himself on things that interest him so we hope a system where he can go at his own pace will suit him.

Does anyone have experience of Wolsey Hall Oxford or Oxford Home Schooling please?

No personal experience sorry, we have done GCSEs simply by working through course textbook and as many exam papers as we could lay hands on.
You may find this useful though he-exams.wikia.org/wiki/CorrespondenceCourses/
Highly recommend the Facebook group linked from wiki for advice and support.
Before you invest in any course you need to be sure you have somewhere to sit the exams and find out what exam boards they can accommodate. That might limit your choice of course provider.

Many thanks for the info and I will check out the link and FB group straight away.

Have located a local international which the Cambridge board says accepts private candidates and I have already emailed them to check.

We had a good experience with Wolsey Hall for German.
Not a great experience with Oxford open learning.
I am not on the Facebook group suggested above but may well join if my dc decided to continue HE at A level.
