...that DS will not be returning.

Nothing big has happened but in general I don’t like how things are run there. He went to a different nursery previously and it was great so I know what a good nursery looks like. Most of all though, we are moving to home ed and I just want to cancel his place there without fuss or going into detail.

What’s the best approach? Email them saying he won’t be returning and then just don’t take him back? Or is a letter better? They usually communicate by email and I really don’t want to do this in person

Just email them. You will probably have a notice period that you will still have to pay for though

I think just n email to explain you will be doing home ed and his last day will be whenever. I'd give a courteous thank you

Checkout your contract first. Then just say you've decided to go down the home ed route and as per the contract you are giving xxx notice.

Educational nursery or a private nursery? If it is a private nursery then you will still need to pay until your notice time is up.
