De -registration letter?

Hi, I've had to remove my children from their primary school due to MANY reasons, and I'm planning on home-schooling them until the 'official' start of the Summer Holidays.
So far they haven't missed any school - today being their last day, so could anyone tell me about officially informing the school about my plans? I'm not sure how to go about it.

I just reread your post. Are you sending them back to the school after the summer holidays? Or you removed them today?

They're not stepp ing foot in that bloody school again! Nah, their (un)official last day was today- I chose not to send them ba ck to that school half-an hour before I had to pick them up, so not had chance to 'official ly ' tell the school.
I was going to inform them first thing on Monday, and then hopefully get them in a new school in September. I 've actually a lways planned on home schooling them rather tha n Secondary school. It's happening a bit sooner than I planned though!

I can't do a link from my mobile device, but google "Education Otherwise". Under "HE and the Law" you'll find sample deregistration letters. As you probably know, in England you can remove your children from school to home educate just by sending the letter to the school, provided it isn't a special school. It is recommended that you either send it recorded delivery, or take the letter to the school and get the receptionist to sign for it, so you have proof that you sent it.

Thank you, I've found that template lol, sending it with recorded delivery tomorrow morning. Also sended it in an email just incase.
