I am assuming that you know that having a visit is your choice. You can give evidence of your educational provision in other ways if you choose too. Even the DFES confirms that an LA does not have the right to insist on coming to your home.
There is an interesting article about home visits here;
home-education.org.uk/legal-home-visits.htm
If you are unhappy with having a home visit, you can ring them and cancel it and tell them you will in fact be supplying alternative forms of educational provision.

If having a home visit is your choice, then that is great.
Some people enjoy showing the work their children have done, some children enjoy doing so. Others do not.
It is entirely up to you what you show. The work is the intellectual property of the person who did it, therefore the LA cannot insist on seeing it. You may choose instead to just to tell the LA about the education you are providing.

If you are nervous, do you have another home ed parent who could be there?

We have never chosen to have a home visit, our children have chosen not to meet with the LA, nor allow them to see any of their work.

How much do you and your child wish to show them?

Well we've only been 'doing it' since January, so we don't have a lot to show her I don't think. Mostly, after a couple of months of deschooling, we play games and talk rather than formal work. She's only turned 5 at the beginning of May. We have Art I suppose she could see.
Wish me luck as it's tomorrow!

Just be calm and remember the LA are coming into your territory, not the other way around. You've not been doing it long, so they've got no reason to be expecting reams of written work, even if they were entitled to expect that.

Explain your reasons for HE, your beliefs about methods and so on. We'll be thinking of you, sending positive thoughts your way.
