Deregister letter/ help

Hi,is there a special letter I need to send? Apparently my email to school is not sufficient....ffs

Yes, the law isn't clear on whether an email is sufficient. The notification must be "written", but the courts haven't established whether emails qualify as written notification. It is wise to send the letter recorded delivery or else hand deliver it and ask for a receipt.

You don't have to use a specific letter, but there are a few points which have to be mentioned in the letter. For example, the school isn't allowed to remove a name from the register except under particular circumstances, so you must state that your child is being home educated. The sample letters you'll find on home ed websites cover all the bases, so you may as well use one of those. The page to which ommmward linked is good.
