I'm sure I read here that someone had this funded by the LEA. Looking to try and get this for DS and looking for advice

Hi Toffee

It's me! DD has an EHCP funding interhigh but we are the only ones in our county

Bristol I am told have it as part of their local offer

When DD joined 2 1/2 years ago Paul the head emailed me a list of about 20 local authorities and schools that funded places

The schools sometimes funded places from their special needs budgets directly and so maintained the pupils on the official register

Hope what I've told you helps, feel free to dm me if you have any other questions

Oh and she's still super happy at Interhigh, thriving and achieving

Awesome. I nearly missed your response in the threads I'm on bit

Have they been good with the SEN? DS also has SEN and EHCP

We've found them pretty good, DD has an exemption from speaking in class due to anxiety

They also run dyslexia support sessions

Do they oh that would be fantastic. It's an element of ds' issues that really hasn't been addressed enough but there's no facility local enough to here (taking into account his physical difficulties).

It's really starting to look like a feasible option. I just need the lea to agree.

Toffee

Most of DD's friends at interhigh are on the spectrum and anxious, the staff when we meet up at events are always lovely and supportive

It's the only school I actually feel relaxed about and don't feel I have to be 'that' parent

In general the staff seem very laid back and friendly treating the students as young adults, first name terms etc
