Deregistering from ARP unit

Hi, My ds attends an ARP unit but is still registered at his mainstream school. He's been in the ARP unit for over 2 years on temporary placement. If I were to deregister him would be be under mainstream rules or special school rules? TIA

He isn't registered at a special school, so assuming he isn't subject to a School Attendance Order then you can just deregister him on demand under the mainstream rules.
