looking for good books for English.

Middle graders? What age are they?

Hi mom17,

I'm guessing you're not from the UK. This site is mainly UK parents, so people will probably be using very different resources. We have used quite a lot of US stuff - Evan Moor do good resources - we have used Six Traits (or something like that!) which is a very good writing course.

We've also used quite a lot of Well Trained Mind, although that was for younger kids, but they are doing a follow-on for 'First Language Lessons for the WTM' which should be out next year (shame my youngest is now too old!) and they do a good writing skills course called 'Writing with Skill' for middle graders, which suited my DSs but not DD. That's available from Peace Hill Press.
