Hi all!
Just a request for advice on an idea I had. I'm a qualified teacher, two years state, six years private. For the last six years I taught the Singapore Maths scheme, which I love and highly recommend (it's very hands on/practical and children gain a deeper understanding of each concept). I've taught the scheme in Early Years and primary, and I was a specialist Singapore Maths teacher in Y5.
I have stopped work to be a SAHM to my two DDs and was wondering whether it would be a viable business idea to offer Singapore Maths classes to home educated children. I'd do a weekly session for up to say 6 children (with a parent), working from home. I'd teach from the scheme and give them the workbook plus a concept to work on through the week (with a prompt card to explain what to do). The next week we'd review then move on.
Is that even a vaguely viable option?
