Unexpectedly HE for Reception. What do I need (emigrating)?

So, we are moving to the ME.
DH is out there, and has found several British schools with space for our oldest, but nowhere has a reception space. However loads of places become available in Y1 as the ratios are relaxed after that.

So, I need a shopping list to allow me to home ed through YR to move to school for Y1, without any groups nearby. Currently can count, get dressed, recognise name, write name in a fashion and some other letters.

I realise I won't be able to replicate a year in school, and that the aim of reintegrating in a year means I will have some constraints other HEers won't have, but all suggestion greatfully received.

What part of the ME are you moving to?

Where are you going ? You will probably find an active homeschool network as it is very common to do so in ME . .Their are members on here who have homeschooled in Saudi, Kuwait and Qatar .
I have just had a son finish British curriculum YR and there was a big emphasis on Read Write Inc and phonic Oxford reading tree. I bought the introductory Read write inc and first couple of ORT sets.
I think their mathematics was Oxford as well.

Saudi.... Interesting that HE is done out there.

And advice on Maths, writing and other areas?

I found a link for the early years outcomes, which I guess will help. Any suggestions of how to do it? I'm thinking max bit of reading, writing and 'rithmetic each morning ( an hour total, in smaller blocks) then fun based on what current interests are (currently germs)

Should I set up some sort of time table/routine or just go with the flow since he's so small?

I've researched home ed in Saudi and spoken to a few people who both home ed and use schools there. We are moving there in the autumn and are long term home educators with older children.
You totally MUST check with the international schools in EP. Nearly all international schools there will only accept previously home educated children if they have followed an accredited programme of study. If you are planning to send to school there, do some in depth research with the schools and get their requirements in writing, as your child may well be refused a place based on having been home educated.
We love home ed and there are plenty in KSA :)

Cheers, Jo. Potential school has said HE for YR wouldn't be a problem, and lots of people do. YR seems to have restricted numbers, but the class size doubles for Y1 onwards, so I think they are used to it. Good advice to get in writing tho.

Reading Eggs is a very popular reading website for little ones who are home ed.
Maths Factor good also with loads of practical tips and games etc, not just online.
I guess it partly depends on your internet connection as to how web based you want some learning though.
