Are you still around under a different name?

(I know you said you were going to change it)

Are you lurking?

I really enjoyed meeting you and have been looking out for you! Wanted to chat a bit more at hesfes but had an incident involving 2 greyhounds invading our tent at 6 am. final straw, tbh, we left. was hoping to grab a coffee or summat but...was not to be.

and your dc were very lovely.

If you are "hiding" for some reason, would love to hear from you. I'm [email protected].

Filly!
Had no idea, thought you might've thought I was a weirdo or something and avoiding me thus!

Not been here as much as usual due to move to France. Fancy camping en France this summer? Love to see you all 'properly'.

What you all been up to?

Greyhounds sounds bad - we left a day early due to PITA next door campers who left us looking after their obnoxious 6 year old.

HowTheFillyjonkStoleChristmas · 12/11/2006 19:17

are you still HEing?

I took a few months off MN after HESFES (also engaged in lots of camping) but then got sucked back in again...

WHY are you in france?

nannyme · 12/11/2006 19:36

We're in France, just 'because' and the fact that we cannot afford England, namely London, but probably also all of England.

Love it here. You may have read in the other thread that we are trying out French Education via the local school. We are in Deux Sevres, btw.

So far so very good...

I need to take more of a break from the two forums I regularly frequent but it is oh so difficult! How many camoing weeks did you do in the end and what was your verdict on HESFES overall?

I thought very samey, very cliquey and wouldn't go again but there were some good bits.

HowTheFillyjonkStoleChristmas · 13/11/2006 07:46

I thought HESFES was noisy and anarchistic (and not in a good, organised, Virgoan way , more a free for all).

It was kind of like a music festival but with crappola music.

I'm actually quite glad we did go in some ways. We hated it, tbh, but it was a real eye opener. We had some real preconcieved ideas about HE'rs and they were completely wrong. I was shocked to realise that we are actually pretty strict with our kids!

Even knitting and astronomy didn't really compensate that much.

I think the real sticking points for us were a. the loud, loud music b. the prevalence of dogs off leashes c. smoking.

And I kind of found the number of drunken pre-teens quite depressing also.

Where is Deux Sevres and how come you chose france and what are you doing there for money and etc? Oh god am

Seriously, email me on that addy if you want to talk without geting MN addicted again (it filters to my "proper" address)
