Hi, I'm pretty sure that dd won'y be going to secondary school although we are going to visit 3 for their open evenings. This is mainly to keep an open mind and so that dd won't think that she can't go if she wants to.

I seem to remember the deadline used to be end of December and now its 31st October.

Today we received a letter for transferring to secondary and applying online.

What do we do if we continue to H.ed? Do we need to contact the LA or just carry on as we are not informing anyone?
It doesn't seem to say anything on the website.

Just carry on - no need to inform - just don't make an application.

In our LA if you make an application and then change your mind or they don't offer you the school you want, you then have to tell them you don't want it, even though in their letter it says that if you don't respond you will lose the place. (I did this with DS1 and then got a letter from the school!)

Thank you all.
She started a new ensemble last night and even the new y7 were complaining about fitting homework in and most only did that one. I think when she thought of the many nights she is out the thought of not fitting it all in suddenly dawned.
I don't think she'll want to go, but don't want to influence.
We just won't apply to any then, application seems to be getting earlier.
