Hello,

Can anyone point me in the right direction. I am looking for FREE resources for my 12 year old. I am briefly educating from home between school transfers.

Thank you

There are some literature studies here, which are quite good but American, so not really NC!

BBC Bitesize has some good resources and I think Galore Park still do free samples of a lot of their textbooks - you would be looking at book 1 or 2 of the 'So You Really Want to Learn' series.

Khan Academy are supposed to be very good for maths.

If it's only for a brief time, I wouldn't bother trying to do all subjects in any sort of comprehensive way. You could either focus on something which you feel your child needs extra work on, or do some fun project of his or her choice, or go do some educational visits. Or do all of those things. There must be some historical sites or museums in your area or further afield which both of you would love to visit, or visit again, if only you had time to get around to it. Well, now you do!

This is a great opportunity to take a break and do something completely different for a short while.

Thank you Saracen. Good idea, I think a trip to the museum this week would be good fun.

Try Rockfig - a newish website but growing. Lists free resources.

I also use BBC - brilliant stuff.

I too am looking for resources though - especially online.
