Publication of the Education (Wales) Bill on July 1st 2013 confirms previous information that the Welsh Assembly Government has dropped plans to change the law on home education.

This is what we expected but it's good to have it confirmed.

The Welsh Assembly Government put forward a number changes to education law in Wales last Autumn as soon as devolved powers kicked in, including registration and monitoring of home education and defining suitable education. These plans were dropped around Christmas.
If the proposals HAD been carried forward, they would have been included in the Bill which has just been published.
