Hello All,
I'm considering educating my children out of school... for a whole load of reasons, though it's over 2 years until my boy would be due to go.
We live on a farm, though it isn't remote it is different to living elsewhere. I'd like to make contact with other farming families.... anyone out there?

I hope we don't get into trouble for this and that the OP doesn't think we are anti-farmer...or worse, that OP is welsh and he/she thinks we are anti-welsh. Blush!!!!! [inaudible chuckle]

Well, it is obvious I am nothing of the sort but what I am saying is, I hope she recognises that and that she can sort the wheat from the chaff and recognise that I (not sure about you) was just joking and am as inclusive as they come....

Awen, you are soo noooorty! Wink

no we're northerners Smile... with good old lancashire accents! are the cumbrian lot in south lakes... or miles away at the top? we're busy in the grass at the moment - not with the sheep. Blush

South Lakes...

Go see Freddy Garside at his Ambleside butcher's and tell him I sent you Grin Actually he doesn't have young kids anymore. Try the Cumbria CC Playbus leader (used to/may still be Imogen) as they go out into the farming communities with the bus. You could always catch up with the bus one day in the Langdales or something.

My partner is a farming in Cumbria, we have 3 kids, 1 girl 2 boys. We don't actually live on the farm yet but spend most of our spare time there. Being a farmers spouse is very hard at times, my other half has been sileaging and hasn't seen the kids for a week. I was planning on sending my to the loacl school but our farm is in a village close to all the amenities.

BeNimble · 22/06/2006 22:01

hello doolaly! i guess you deserve that name for hitching up with a farmer! i grew up on a farm, i escaped - to cumbria actually, then met a farmer and moved back very near to where i started!! strange world. grass related farming pursuits rained off at mo... so my man is enjoying world cup footy. our farm is very (too) close to a town - but i'm serious about home ed.... time will tell.
