Monitoring LA staff to ensure they are not breaking the law :)

In the light of other, heated threads on here, I thought some EHEers may find this blogpost amusing.

Negative judgements likely toward LA staff that write in green biro

There seems to be quite a bit of HEr bashing on MN atm. I'm deliberately avoiding the threads as the decision to HE was after much thought and heartache.

But I peeked at one and saw it was mostly full of hogwash by people who know very little about HE - I thought posting may educate a few minds but then decided most seem entrenched in their ignorance so my bleating will likely make little difference.

It is making me feel really sad because parenting a child who is still angry about his school experiences (almost 3years ago) a school who hugely let him down is difficult enough, without feeling bashed, or feeling the need to justify our decision.
I haunt the HE section of MN to receive support and to try to support others - not to feel defensive and judged by (mostly) ignorant folk.

If you think you know what is like to HE try walking in my shoes, then a bunch of other HErs shoes (because it is different for each of us) then maybe 'you' will be in a better place to comment!

:( rant over

SDeuchars what a great read that blog is - thanks for sharing it! I agree there have been some quite ridiculous comments on some threads on here recently. I, too, avoided posting in reply to such narrow-minded eejits, Threadwatcher. I think the HE-bashing comes from people who are clearly insecure in their own choices for their kids, otherwise why would they bother? Each child is unique and so is each family's values and needs, so whichever path they choose is "right" for them. I hope that these types of people don't put HE-ers from posting on here. I have only started posting very recently, but I have found this section so helpful.
