Countries where school is compulsory

Just interested really. Obviously Germany is one, introduced by Hitler, and the treatment of HE families there is appalling. Are there any other countries?

Come to France! It's absolutely fine to HE here, but with one proviso; children must receive instruction in French. You can't just HE all subjects in English, for example. The children need age appropriate French tuition.

Otherwise, HE is established here.

Bulgaria has an interesting take on it, school is compulsory, and if they dont attend, they get expelled???
