I just wanted to say how exciting it is to see all the helpful discussion taking place at the moment, and as a long time lurker and only periodic poster I want to say a MASSIVE THANK YOU to all of you regular posters who have helped me SO MUCH in the last couple of years.

I feel I have taken a mini masters in HE theory and practice through reading the MNHE board over the last 2 years and I am in jaw dropping AWE of the generosity of you all for the huge amount of time you spend giving helpful and often life changing information to others, as well as by sharing your inspiring stories. You really are providing an incredible resource. Thanks

x

That's kind- can I second that please? I wouldn't feel half as confident as I do now were it not for these helpful conversations (and julienoshoes deserves a medal!) x

I would like to third it! I don't think I would have seen HE as a viable option if it hadn't been for this forum. I don't post much but I read a lot and I'm really looking forward to teaching our DDs at home.

Thank you Blush

I agree. She does deserve a medal!

Speaking for myself, I am very grateful that other people set me on this path years ago. It has given our family much peace and happiness. I may not be able to repay those people personally and individually, but I can try to do the same for others in my turn.

That's exactly why I do it. Paying forward what others in the HE community did for me and mine.

The community caught my family when we were falling. They saved us.

Our recent decision to HE our son was 12mths in the making. We have racked up a huge Amazon bill in our research but also credit Julie and many others from Mumsnet for the help their openess and discussion has given us.

Almost a month into it now. Ds is beaming and life for everyone in our family is so much better.
