Plans for Transition from Disability Living Allowance to PIP for 16+

I know quite a few home educating families have a child with special needs, so thought I would mention this.

The Government is consulting on the details of how the Personal Independence Payment will work. One of the elements of the design is how the transition from Disability Living Allowance will take place when a young person reaches the age of 16.

There is a very optimistic case study on page 8 of the consultation document linked from the above page.

Hmm at the case study. I suppose they all lived happily ever after as well.

Cynical head on. I practice, I can imagine very few cases will be as straightforward and smooth as the example. More hoops to jump through Sad.
