I am considering HE ds who would start reception this year. I would really like to meet some real families as it is a scary decision. However the only group i have found nearby - in hackney - says they do not cater for the under-5s at all. We are in tower hamlets. Does anyone know of anything nearby? We can't travel too far as have no car and a baby as well as ds, am feeling there is a complete lack of local support which doesn't seem right.

I'm sorry you've had no responses; I'm afraid I can't be much help either, as the only one I know of (in Hackney, Adventures In Education or similar?) is probably the one you're referring to - I checked their website and saw 'for over 5's'... Maybe look at what bus routes/DLR/overground lines near you go south of the river, where there is much more going on. Good luck.

Hi
We are South London too, so I don't know about what is going on in East London, but have you joined any home ed lists on google or yahoo? I couldn't find an East London one, but this is the Central London one (below). I should think if you applied to join that and then posted a request for more info. about what's going on in East London you might get a response.
