Should I HE or not?? please help!

I have a dd 11 and she hates school. Dd has lots of health problems and is way behind in school, dd struggles to spell 4 letter words and her writing is about that of a 6/7 year old. Dd plays with dolls and barbies and the other day asked me what they play at secondary school at "play time". The school have put her back a year as dd is a end of August baby, but this has made no difference. The few people I have asked about this have been very negative one called me crazy! please help me all advice really welcome and needed! Thanks.

If she is not able to keep up in school and they are not giving her special help, what are the benefits of her going? If there are none, why would you not home educate? If you HE, you'll be able to make sure that she learns at an appropriate level. And you probably want to concentrate on things that make her independent, rather than academics.

Just a little bit of moral support OP - I took one of my DSs out of secondary school in his second year and homeschooled him until he went to college just before he turned 16. People can be very unsupportive and say the most ridiculous things, and a lot of it is just because they have no idea what it actually involves, and don't know the legalities and practicalities.
