Maths books

Hiya, my son, who is 6, wants a maths book so he can learn "for real" (his words, not mine), any recommendations?
He can count, add up basic numbers and subtract and tell the time and he doesn't like repetetive things, like some Kumon books.

If worksheets would work as well, I would recommend Math Mammoth. Little repetition - though extra sheets can be made on the website if a subject needs more practice to master - and feels like 'real work' to my DS, 7, who has a similar desire for "real" work.
