De-registering question

So ds is going to be home educated again. He is currently between schools, infant and junior which he would've started in Sept. The junior school is a different school that needed applying to. So do I send them a de-reg letter?

Did you apply?
If you did, I'd send in a letter telling them I no longer wish to take the place as you have made alternative arrangements.

Expect to hear from the LA though.
