it doesn't mention in the article but I think these are terrific tools for home educating parents to take a break and also to have their children learn some parts that parents may not feel competent in, if it is the case.
the article also mentions a study with the fascinating result that
"students given one-on-one attention reliably perform two standard deviations better than their peers who stay in a regular classroom. How much of an improvement is that? Enough that a student in the middle of the pack will vault into the 98th percentile".
