Worrying about not doing enough?

Saw this video on a local list and thought it was good. Could be helpful to those who think they are not doing enough structured work.:)
Reimagining education.

The message is: stop thinking of education as something that we do to people, and start thinking of people as voracious self-directed learners.

He suggests that we (society, schools etc.) should do less - adding stuff into the curriculum means that children learn less.

I do wonder, sometimes, if some people misunderstand the 'autonomous learning' idea as 'do nothing at all' instead of, how I read it, as 'do nothing at all that has 'education' as it's primary motivator but still do lots and lots of things together that the children want to do'.

Off to watch the video now - love the TED talks!
