Free Schools...

Following on from that lovely flexi school link posted a few days ago, would it be possible to set up something like that as one of these "free schools"? I wonder if the demand would be there round here... (NE England)

I'm very interested in this too ButterPieify! I've started thinking about the possibility of setting up something similar down here in the South East. As to demand I don't know about the N.E specifically, but I think there is an argument for there actually being a need (as well as a want) for a different path, or way if you like, to receive an education that falls somewhere between the two mediums of school and home education. There are parents who have to work part-time outside the home who feel pushed into having to send their children into school full time because there isn't a choice, even though they would happily have them at home on the days they're not at work. And of course there are HE parents who feel their children would benefit from attending school on a 'subject by subject' basis or only for certain days for recreation etc.

That's some of the 'argument for' side covered but as to the practicals of implmentation regarding the law etc, I'm not 100% sure. I'd be really interested on how you progress with it if you decide to be brave and try and set it up.Smile
