Bringing interest and colour to a bathroom (wall)

How do you make your bathroom feels more homely/cosier? I have just ordered new, more colourful towels and I’m going to replace a horrible blind.

But I have a blank wall (top half not tiled) that I think could do with brightening up.

Would you put artwork in a bathroom? Or?

It’s quite small so not too keen on a shelf, though I suppose could put a small one higher up with a pot plant on?

Yes I have a sizeable painting in my bathroom. It’s acrylic on canvas so can handle the humidity. I had a framed poster in another bathroom but it did eventually warp, though come to think of it my son has a framed poster in his bathroom and it’s still good after 12 years.

Just paint it an interesting colour? Or I have a nice set of reclaimed wood shelves I keep ferns on.

We've always treated ours as though it were any other room and hung art, added shelves with plants etc. Also, we prefer deeper, saturated colours so have used these to paint the walls. In the bathroom we're tackling in the new year we'll be hanging green/gold wallpaper 😉

Plates are also good!
Butter Wakefield’s bathroom is a favourite of mine.

Thank you all, some food for thought. I like the idea of plates in terms of the moist environment! Am going to look at shelf options too as I do love a pot plant
