Washable paint vs regular matt?

Hi all,
I'm a mum of 5-month old twins and I just purchased a family home. I am completing renovations and need advice choosing paint colours.

I'm looking at Dulux's Natural Hessian for living room and master bedroom, and Bleached Lichen 2 for the dining room. As the BL2 is a washable paint so thought it would be good for dining room, but I'mwondering whether it would be worth having that in the living room as well — considering kids are messy (haha!). But the BL2 is almost double the price of the Natural Hessian.

Is it worth paying the extra for a washable paint? Or sticking to regular Matt sufficient?

Thanks!

Buy the washable paint.
May I present the result of a red wine mishap (don't ask how I'm still not sure)

Washable paint on walls, regular matt on ceiling.

Now need to repaint the whole ceiling. FML.

IME you get what you pay for with paint types - the scrubbable ones seem to be generally more durable as well as being possible to clean better.

we’ve mostly used colour-matched Crown ‘Clean Extreme’ in the past few years

And then a tub of this, it’s marvellous stuff!

Something I've found with Dulux is it touches up really well. So if you do need to paint a bit where the wall has been marked it's usually just a quick job. So if you opt for the cheaper one that's always an option.

Always get washable. We’ve moved somewhere painted in regular emulsion and I’m missing my wipeable walls from my old house (it’s mostly splashes in the kitchen, grubby marks on the hallway and up the stairs at kid hand height).

BIN Zinsner (?sp) stain block is amazing. B&Q own brand durable paint is amazing (and inexpensive)
