Rug help needed!

We're changing our sofa from millennial grey to millennial green and I have no idea what kind of rug would work with it. We have neutral coloured walls and solid oak flooring. With 3 kids and a dog I'd rather stay away from light colours. Any recommendations of styles or colours that would work would be greatly appreciated. Bonus points for links/retailers.

These are from Oka and not cheap. They last though! Various options available.

I dislike those patchy faux printed Persian ones. I would look for a vintage Persian on marketplace or a Berber style wool rug.
la reroute is good for rugs.

These are West Elm. Go for larger sizes eg 340 x 280. My rugs are from these two companies and I’ve a plain wool one edged in leather from Alternative Flooring.

Me too!

We have an amazing antique Persian rug sourced on eBay ten years ago. It wasn't cheap (£1100), but was later valued at 6k. It's a very unusual colourway (olive green, cerise, pale blue are amongst the many colours), so ot goes with just about anything.

I can confirm Oka are great quality. I foundone of their lovely kilims at a charity shop that still looks like new despite the best efforts of our dogs!

Auctions (via The Saleroom) are another good place to look.

We won’t all find the real deal Persian rugs though. Just basic rug shopping is fine.
