Warm white or neutral white for kitchen under-cabinet LED strips?

We’re planning to add LED strip lighting underneath the wall units in our kitchen and I’m stuck between warm white and a more neutral white.

The kitchen has fairly light cupboards and worktops, and I want the lighting to be useful when preparing food but also look cosy in the evening. I’ve seen some kitchens where warm white looks lovely, but I’m worried it could make the cupboards look a bit yellow.

For anyone who has installed under-cabinet LED strip lighting, what colour temperature did you choose and are you happy with it? Did you go for a continuous strip or individual lights?

Would also be interested to hear whether anyone found that the brightness or diffuser made a noticeable difference.

Warm every time. It creates a lovely ambience and if you are looking for cosy it makes sense too

I think you'll be happier with a warm white. Neutral LED lighting can look a bit like a laboratory.
The strip gives better lighting for the food prep areas, but it has to be installed in a certain way or else it looks cheap.

Thanks, that’s really helpful! I think I’m going to go with warm white after all.

I'd go with warm white. Otherwise it might end up looking like a vet surgery.
