Recommendations for good quality window dressings/ blinds for a 1950s home

We have recently moved from a more character property to a 1950s home. Loving it and am glad to have moved and have adapted the style of a few things to create more of a modern mid century style.

I’m struggling with window dressings though. Some rooms have old roller blinds - great for now but looking to upgrade them. Windows tend to be quite wide. Just slightly larger than ready made roller blinds annoyingly.

Any recommendations for good quality online blind companies please? In the past I’ve had a local maker to make us roman blinds but not sure they fit the style here as well. I was as an alternative for rooms that don’t need blackout, having long voile/linen style curtains?

What sort of windows do you have ? Wide but not tall ? Floor length curtains are usually good anywhere, but some 50s windows look better with short curtains. Simple blinds in an appropriate fabric would work. You could go for actual 50s fabric . What year is the house ? As 51 quite different in style from 59.

Thanks for responding, it’s late 50s and they are wide 160cm x 120 in many cases. Many with column radiators underneath so short curtains could be a tricky length.

The house has been modernised in many ways - windows aren’t original, but it has parquet floors and isn’t all open plan, so we are trying to add character where we can without being cliched!
