Bathroom flooring

Our bathroom needs updating and the floor needs replacing. We’re thinking of lino this time - what colour would you go for if the floors are light grey tiles?

Look at porcelain tiles rather than Lino.

Lots of people have LVT rather than Lino. Karndean flooring in dark grey would be good. Feels nice underfoot and easy to clean.

we have a light oak herringbone wood effect lino in our bathrooms. Looks really nice and is warmer underfoot than LVT or tiles.

We have just had our en suite done, previously has porcelain tiles. They are very cold underfoot, unless you are considering underfloor heating. We have had LVT in a neutral wood colour, we are very happy with it.

Definitely go for lino rather than porcelain. I bought porcelain tiles for my bathroom floor - they're cold underfoot and, over time, they crack on their own (not because something has been dropped on them). Lino is easy to install, remove and replace, and you can get so many different patterns and colours now (look on Instagram for inspiration).

We've previously fitted Karndean and porcelain tiles at different houses. I found that the karndean, whilst hard-wearing, collected dust and required frequent vacuuming. The porcelain tiles (we had faux wood 'planks' in one house and encaustic style in another) wore very well with no cracking issues. I can only assume the previous poster's were laid with the dot and dab technique for them to crack spontaneously. We didn't find them particularly cold underfoot either, but are fairly hardy, being used to living on building sites without heating 😉

Soon we'll be doing two bathrooms in our latest house and plan to have porcelain tiles in both.
