Where should I buy a bed from? Is "Cheap" ok or get what you pay for?

Please recommend where I can buy a new bed from? I'd ideally like a simple winged headboard and bed with some drawer storage - just not sure if this is something I can buy "cheap" - at around £1K or whether I really need to pay closer to £2K to get a better one that will last?

DH has already chosen the mattress - SuperKing
Because it will be heavy, we can't have an ottoman which means I can't have This winged upholstered one from Daals
And I'm not even sure if they are a good brand anyway?

Do I go high end and get something like this made in the UK - is it worth it?

We’ve had a bed from beds.co.uk, an ottoman and it’s been 9 years and going strong. Have just ordered another one (to replace a different bed). Very reasonable.

I think comfort comes down to the mattress. The frame is just the frame!

I agree with @tryingtomakesenseof - we have a fairly expensive super king Sealy posturepedic mattress on an ottoman base from Dreams that was roughly quarter of the mattress price. Both are eight years old and show no signs of needing to be replaced.

I recently bought a bed from Sleepland beds and I’m really pleased with it. Their customer service was also very good.

A basic bed frame is fine so long as it can support the mattress.

We got ours from Dusk four years ago, still looking great and so affordable. I would recommend.

The saying is spend as much money as you can on your bed and your shoes because you're either in one or the other...

I got the bed frame from IKEA 20 years ago. New mattress 4 years ago.

Dusk furniture is good quality for the price

I had a winged headboard ottoman bed (superking) from esupasaver with a super heavy mattress from ikea (about 60kg) and had absolutely no issues.
Bed was £500ish and mattress only slightly more. Comfiest bed I’ve ever had and the ottoman storage was a god send. I only got rid as it was too tight a squeeze when I moved house.

Mattresses are worth spending good money on. Although even then, there are some excellent affordable mattresses around these days. The actual bed you can spend less on, as long as it supports the mattress well.

Thank you all for posting!! Will get in and check out esupasaver, dusk and beds.co.uk

DH has chosen a pretty £££ mattress (but have since seen you can go really crazy and spend upwards of £10kConfused)
So really need to choose carefully or!!

we sleep with it on the floor until I can save up Grin
