Rug recommendations please

I’m moving into my own apartment for the first time, at the ripe age of 39, and really need recommendations for where I can buy some nice big rugs which are inexpensive. I’m on a budget and have several rugs to buy, so really can’t afford to spend a lot on each rug.
I have cats and a toddler so I’m trying to protect the (light coloured!) carpet already down in the apartment!

I look for quality rugs at bargain prices - it's better than buying cheap crap, imo, although we did previously have a couple of jute type rugs from Ikea that wore fairly well.

We prefer old/interesting rugs which l mostly source on eBay - eg, amongst others I got an 8 x 10' Oka kilim for £250 from a charity shop selling there.

In Homesense we picked up a vintage style shaggy pure wool rug (retail price in excess of 1k, we paid £135).

I'd also recommend The Saleroom.
