Simple living room ideas without spending too much

My living room feels a little plain at the moment and I’m looking for some simple home decor ideas. I’ve been browsing living room decor ideas and home decoration ideas, but there’s so much choice that I’m not sure what actually makes a room feel cosy.
What home decor ideas have worked well for you without spending a fortune?

Pattern and texture and colour. Always a large green plant.
a large rug. Lighting eg lamps with warm bulbs.

My living room feels cosy I have lamps one is free standing and a table lamp. I have oak tv unit, bookcase and side tables. Long curtains in the bay window and a plant .

When we moved house none of our stuff really worked.. dh resprayed so much stuff ! It was very satisfying how much money we saved not actually replacing things!
Can you recycle anything you have already?
