Lovely yellow paint?

I’m looking for a nice yellow for a sunny room. Victorian house with original features (beautiful coving & ceiling rose).

Finding the perfect yellow is proving tricky. Not too bright but not insipid either. In my head, I’m thinking ‘primrose’ - any recommendations??

I’ve tried the yellows from Dulux & Crown & they’re not quite right. So I guess im now looking at the pricier ones!!!

Dorset cream from farrow and ball is nice. Not an acidic yellow but as the name suggests a creamier tone. Very warm and welcoming

I’ve been looking at Little Greene — the walls in this image are ‘yellow rose’

I love yellow paint in sunny rooms and as a more interesting alternative to magnolia. I'd go for a lighter colour than you think b/c you can always switch to a darker tone after the first coat. We have dulux soft vanilla in the shower room and cloakroom.
Peach is also a good option - we used soft peach - dulux?- for all the hallways/stairwell and it keeps things light without being boring.

Ooh, yes that’s exactly the vibe I’m going for. Thankyou @tarheelbaby

I made a massive error years ago with a yellow that was just too bright and acidic. It’s still etched on my eyelids so don’t want to make the same mistake again!!

Thats also very nice, @PacificState I’ll check it out and the F&B one…

Thanks all!

We've previously used Farrow & Ball India Yellow in a couple of houses. It's a lovely saturated, earthy yellow.

However, despite using F&B over many years (including in our current home, a Georgian cottage where we have their Yeabridge Green and De Nimes), these days it's not my favourite paint for coverage etc. Edward Bulmer is far superior imo.

We're planning a yellow bathroom here and my two top contenders are EB Persian or otherwise Paint and Paper Library Gamboge.
