Affordable 2 seater sofa

I need to replace the vile sofa in our playroom, the only issue is, I don’t want to spend any money on it, probably only about £300ish for a two seater, I can’t find anything nice on marketplace or eBay, nothing in IKEA suits the room (old rural house), I’m drawing a blank!

Does it genuinely need replacing or can you buy a cover/throw for it and new cushions?

Dunelm has quite a few for under £400. They do have some under £300 but those don't look very comfy. Depends how much you'd be using it, I guess?

Habitat's got quite a few under £300 atm, some of which look lovely. Huge range if you can go up to £400.

Both retailers' sofas have a good reputation.

Do you have a charity shop that sells furniture near you?

We paid around £150 (including delivery) for a 2 seater sofa plus arm chair as a "stop gap" when we got our first house in 2014. It has survived 2 house moves in the UK plus an international move. We purchased another (new) IKEA sofa for the international move, but before then it was our only sofa for over a decade and was pretty new/unused when we got it as I found the same make on the DFS website.

Not keen on any of the Dunelm ones but will have a look at the other options, have found an Ikea one for £500 that’s okay but quite ugly 😂. I think the issue is I’ve just spent £4k on a gorgeous sofa for another room and we have some great second hand Laura Ashley ones in other rooms and now everything looks a bit cr@p.

Sofa is for the playroom so will be well used and abused so don’t want to spend a lot on it.
