How do you make your home feel cosy for autumn?

Looking forward to Autumn , what decor / accessories do you use to make your home look cosy?

I don’t really decorate seasonally but the best way to achieve cosiness & warmth is lighting & then a real fire.

I have an autumnal wreath on the door and lots of candles, love that you can get led ones you can blow out now. Also, if you don’t have a real fire then the candles with the wooden wicks that crackle are lovely.

Geodesis Fig or Agarwood Diffusers everywhere.
change cushion covers and store summer ones.
If they aren’t already, all bulbs in 2700 warm white.
put summer shoes and hats away and out of sight.

They sound lovely.
I agree with lighting, low lamps and an open fire, if you've got one.
Casserole in the oven, or cake baking esp cinnomon rolls( transient, admittedly)
I burn incense occasionally ( real, church incense from a church outlet), though I don't have a thurible! But it's an old house so doesn't feel too out of place.

I'd say lighting, though, is the key to cosiness.

Definitely lighting. In our living rooms we don't use our overhead lights much (if at all in our TV room!) as we have an abundance of lamps which create a much softer ambient glow. We have lots of beeswax candles (I'm not a fan of scented ones unless they're £££ 🙄 so only have those at Christmas when I splash out) and light the wood burner and Everhot electric stove when it starts getting chilly.

Our rooms are layered with colour, pattern and texture which all add to the cosy feel. No specific seasonal decorating here, except a few tiny vintage porcelain Halloween decs I put on the kitchen mantle shelf.

@Oneearringlost we have loads of the crackling candles, mostly bought from garden centers! Ours are called Woodwick can buy them on Amazon I think.

I have 4 or 5 different themes across the year - approx September 15th to Dec 01, I get out my Autumnal stuff, so I change my cushion covers to my Autumn leaves/hedgehog ones, have my pumpkin and Autumn tea light holders, my warmer throws (colours are rust and burnt orange) over the sofas and a few ‘Autumnal’ nick nack type things (little family of hedgehogs etc) plus my Autumn vases - cream with brown leaf designs on them and I stick to orange/red flowers. Once we hit December I go full on Christmas for a month. Early Jan I go back to kinda neutral but as soon as about mid Feb comes along, I go all full out Spring mode. My cushion covers have daffodils on, my throws are brighter etc. My Summer theme are my seaside/lighthouse thows. It sounds a bit much but everything came from Dunelm and has lasted about 8 years. Total cost probably £250.00.

I don't do anything different, really. We might dot a few bits and bobs around at Halloween, but that's pretty much it.

I get the woodwick ones as presents for people I know don’t have fires and they are always appreciative.

I just bought a warm vanilla candle in preparation for autumn; I will get a few more. I also plan to replace my weedy door wreath with something a bit more robust. Then it’s a lovely throw blanket and a roaring fire.

I don't...apart from pill the curtains closed at dusk

...and put the central heating on if it's particularly cold.

I don’t do anything drastic, I don’t have seasonal decor.
We don’t get much use from the front room during the warmer months, mostly hang out in the kitchen - it has a big island, sofa, big telly, table and chairs etc and it all leads out on to the patio and garden so we use that mostly in the bright summery weather.
In the winter though we do use our front room as it has a lovely open fire. I love getting it lit and lighting the candles, mostly non scented but there are a few st Eval ones I like and buy at the Christmas tree farm.
there are blankets on the sofa year round for anyone who wants one - they just go with the front room, they aren’t themed in any way for winter.

I have a lovely autumnal wreath I put on the door and a foliage garland that goes on the mantle with candles and across the back (wall of glass) overlooking the garden. I get my gas fire on. Won’t be doing this til well into September/start of Fall. I then put pumpkins out early October, carve them day before or day of Hallowe’en with a few other decs which are only up for the night. I change to Christmas decs start of December.

I love autumn 🍂 st eval candles are lovely. Lighting is key I think.
I like a few throws too.

I’m defo sick of the heat but I’m not sure it will feel particularly autumnal come September.

Put the heating on. I don't decorate for any season except for Christmas.

I suspect we are in for a delayed autumn which won’t start until October at the earliest
