How much to pay to have curtains made?

Hi all, my friend has very kindly offered to make a set of full drop curtains and two roman blind for me. She is getting the fabric for me with a trade discount and says she doesn’t want money for making them but I don’t think that’s fair. How much would it cost to have them made?

Just had some made recently and it was about £1k for lined full drop curtains and between £250 - £350 each for a roman blind depending on size. That included fitting and curtain poles all done by a local company based in SE.

She's said she doesn't want money so I would respect that so I'd give her a voucher for afternoon tea or a restaurant to thank her.

If she’s adamant she doesn’t want paid and means it grab the offer with both hands this is a hell of a skill to have a friend help out with, saving u a small fortune. Even decent shop bought quality curtains standard size are a luxury due to expense. Take her out for a really nice meal if she refuses anything.

I was thinking about getting her a voucher for liberty or selfridges so she can buy herself something lovely.

Had set made end of last year
£1600 .
Lined one large window 14 ft and smaller window
Pole to floor
But they will be up 10 years at least !

A few hundred quid for all that. Bespoke curtains are majorly expensive

We paid £250 a pair for 4 pairs from curtains to go when we moved into our house the cheapest place we could find. Our downstairs windows are not normal size so they had to be really long. I was astounded how much having curtains made costs as I had never had to buy non standard sizes before!

Can I ask if those sums are just the cost of them being made, not including materials. I need new curtains for 2 windows. The fabric alone is likely to cost over £650 not including lining, poles etc.

I think my fabric was £25 a metre and I needed 50 metres (?) plus lining and they were pinch pleat so I reckon I was maybe charged £400 ish for the actual sewing of them ?
