Anyone know a good site for fairly cheap wallpaper?

We have a house which we rent out, and this summer we’re planning to redecorate (we’re between tenants). I prefer wallpaper to paint as I think it looks cosier, and because the walls aren’t very even and textured wallpaper covers the imperfections.

The only wallpaper shop near us is quite fancy, so wallpaper starts at about £50 a roll. We did have a Homebase, but it closed. I’m looking for something cheaper! Not dirt cheap, just decent quality, neutral colour, slight texture. Preferably with a couple of options so that we’re not just doing the entire house in the same paper!

Anyone know anywhere online that we could look? The bedrooms are quite small, so even a place that did end-of-line stuff would work, as we’d only need a few rolls for each bedroom.

Not online but we recently bought wallpaper from B&M for around £15/roll and our decorator was really impressed with the quality. Also try The Range.

Oh, I hadn’t thought of B&M (and probably would have assumed it wasn’t great paper). Will try it, and The Range.

My favourite came from Wallpaper Direct and it was £16 a roll. They have millions of designs at all price levels. You can order samples.

I was in a shop the next town and they had textured wall paper for £4 99 a roll.

But I'm lucky to love where a lot of factory shops and multi purpose shops that sell decent wallpaper without the bug price.

I'll second Dunelm. I've bought 4 different wallpapers from there, ranging in price from £10 to £22 a roll. All good quality and fairly easy to work with, speaking as a novice decorator.

I’ve done a lot of wallpapering and I think generally there isn’t much difference in quality between high and low price ones. It’s the name and design you’re paying for more than anything. Go for a paste the wall one and get the ready mixed paste in a tub - trying to mix your own always results in blobs.

@Sparrowsandbudgiesthat’s good to know! We have a decorator booked - I don’t think the tenants would want to live with the mess I would make!

also dunelm, i had only bought "posh" paper previously but ran out of money. couldn't believe i could get paper for £14 a roll! lots of choice too
