Ideas for arranging an awkwardly shaped nursery with a toddler bed

So DD’s nursery is a very funny shape - narrow with 2 alcoves and 2 windows. Up until now we have had her cot in one of the alcoves away form the window (layout photo attached).

But she can now climb out of her cot so we need to take the side off - the issue is that there is about a 50 cm gap between her cot and/ bed and the wall & I’m worried about if she fell out she could get stuck between it.

Does anyone have any bright ideas for layout ? She’s a climber so I can’t have her by the windows either.

In terms of furniture we have a rocking chair in the other alcove

Can you fill the gap between the cotbed and the wall with cushions or something, up to the level of the mattress? Although a 50cm gap sounds quite big for getting stuck in unless I'm missing something.

Alternatively - window locks. You need to make sure the windows are really secure anyway whether or not she has her bed by them. Before long she'll be able to just go and get something to stand on if the wants to get to them.

Oops that was a typo! It’s 30cm.

I could try and fill the gap but I’m just worried about her falling out and suffocating or something - she’s not yet 2 so feels too little to not be in a cot really

Can you put the chest of drawers where the cot is and then the bed either under the window or opposite wall, but with window locks regardless?

Could you use a clip on bed rail at the end of the cot that’s by the wall?

You need to make sure she cant climb out of the windows anyway so i would just put it under the window.

Turn it around so the head is against the bathroom wall and coming into the room like you would with a standard bed. Then put cushions on the floor either side it you need to.

Put the chest in the alcove.
