Help please! We're decorating the main living area and planning on papering one wall then painting the others. Any opinions on the samples we picked up? We're thinking more like a coordinating rather than a full feature wall IYSWIM.

I like number 2 or 6. The pink in these will be a lovely accent colour

Laiste · 20/06/2026 16:22

I like the one on the far left. On my screen the blueish tones go with the sofa and it's a nice full
on paper.

Be brave!

DrMaxwell · 20/06/2026 16:32

Forgot to add, the sofa is going.

Also, sorry about the sweary cushion!

What colour sofa are you getting?

DrMaxwell · 20/06/2026 16:58

Probably a cream sofa

I like the second one. The others are either too mild and very blend into the background, or patterns I don’t like. Very personal though.

MrsWalker2025 · 20/06/2026 17:31

I like number 2 best

Geneticsbunny · 20/06/2026 17:53

I like 4 and 6. But i would be brave and do the whole room

RollonSpringplease · 20/06/2026 17:55

2nd one!

AbsoluteHoot · 20/06/2026 17:57

I’m afraid I like none of those. The 2 on the left are particularly bad.

gillefc82 · 20/06/2026 18:04

The one on the far right looks nice. 1 and 2 (working from the left) look too busy.

Can you give scale of the room, how much light, any accent colours from furniture etc?

cheesymarmite · 20/06/2026 18:05

I like number 2

ShrubRose · 20/06/2026 18:40

I would pick the one on the far right.

I think it's the best design, and the colours would coordinate very well with a cream sofa.

GimmieABreakOr3 · 20/06/2026 20:02

I like the last 2 on the right.

DrMaxwell · 20/06/2026 20:38

The room is 3m x 6m, it's the whole floor of a victorian terrace.

Do the whole room. You have so kuch tall furniture there is hardly any wall anyway and it will tie the whole space together.

I agree actually.

LibertyLily · 21/06/2026 20:06

I agree you should wallpaper the whole room. None of those wallpapers do it for me, but I don't have to live there.

AllJoyAndNoFun · 22/06/2026 19:47

Also agree wth "wallpaper it all" - you don't have huge expanses of unbroken up wall so just do the whole thing in the one on the far right

IAmTheStreets · 23/06/2026 07:56

Looks like I'm the minority but I like 5, lighter colors look better imo! Have you tried interior design apps to decide? You can draw a plan in there and try out various color palettes to see which combinations work better, something like Interiorbox 3d or similar apps would do. Smaller pieces don't really give you an idea of how it would look for the whole room.

anewstartin2026 · 23/06/2026 08:54

I like 4 and 6. But 4 might be too safe, especially with a cream sofa, so would say go for 6. And do the whole room!
