Pale blue paint for kitchen help!

any recommendations for a white paint with a hint of blue? Or a very pale blue?

not farrow and ball as it’s too expensive.

It’s to go in a cottage kitchen with little natural light and white wood. I don’t want too greeny or grey blue!

Help, I’m going around in circles and tempted to mix the paint myself. I went for a light blue from vaspar but it looks quite dark blue once painted on! Need to repaint

I have Dimpse from F&B in a similar room. It’s Johnstone’s Matte Vinyl colour matched. It is described as a grey but it looks light blue. Lovely with white woodwork and makes a smallish, darkish room feel fresh and bright but cosy at the same time.

Have you looked at Little, Greene Pale Wedgwood?

Sail white - dulux. It’s lovely. I have it in various rooms in my house.

Poppins2016 · 04/06/2026 22:14

Cornflower white by Dulux is lovely.

This is a better representation of Sizing.

Another recommendation for Dulux cornflower white

WittyGreyCat · 04/06/2026 22:21

B&m do some fantastic paint, I think it's called Johnsons? On offer at around 12 pounds at the moment.
I took a gamble and bought some,to paint the outside and inside of my summerhouse and some furniture. Both the matt and silk are great. Thick, quality paint with loads of options of colours.

Heyy, does this look a bit grey? I love the sound of it but I just googled it and it looks grey?

My kitchen is a pale icy blue. I ended up mixing a little bit of pale blue paint into a tin of brilliant white in the end as I couldn't find anything I liked.

You could get yourself to a Crown or Dulux decorating centre and they can mix up a colour for you. Crown decorating centres have small cards with the paint colours that you can take home to put against your wall to see if it looks right. They will then mix up a sample pot for you to try at home.

SnoringLabradors · 04/06/2026 22:51

I know you said not F and B but we paid £69 a tin For ours from B and Q and one pot did two coats and we still have some left. It went on like a dream and I cried (in my head not in real life) with happiness. It did the whole large 4 large walls bathroom.
Painting had always been stressful before we got Farrow and Ball

Just started on the hall way again with F and B it goes on like a bloody dream honestly - it’s costing us £70 to do hall way and £70 to do our bathroom. Please get a tester pot and try it - we won’t be messing about with other makes again, DH was always into Dulux but total converts here !!

It looks like a very pale (palest possible!) cool toned blue in my south facing bedroom. I deliberately chose it because it looks blue toned as opposed to grey toned. Having said that, paint looks different on different substrates and in different lights... it would be worth trying a tester on a couple of different walls to see how it "behaves".

My kitchen is painted in this.

I have a south facing kitchen but with small windows on the east, south and west side, so not an abundance on natural light. This is a lovely shade. It's not cold. It has green undertones but has no sense of green about it. It's definitely just blue. I love Craig and Rose paints as they go on easily and are very durable. It's the bathroom/kitchen paint and I can easily clean any marks off it with a wet cloth.

Do, it's gorgeous. I've had this paint colour 12 years and never wanted to change it.

My living room is that colour. It is a Crown paint, but the colour looks the same. I love pale blues in decor.

CatherinedeBourgh · 05/06/2026 09:11

If you love the colour you got but it's too dark, mix it half and half with white. Or even 2/3 white, 1/3 the colour.

I almost always end up doing this, most colours look too dark on the wall.

I agree. That's how I ended up mixing my very pale blue.
