Electric Fire?

We’re just about to move into a house with 2 old gas fires. A gas engineer has said they should be capped off and removed which is what we’re planning to do.

I don’t want to put in another gas fire. Both rooms have central heating so it’s more for aesthetic purposes.

Looked at bio fuel (not convinced) and def don’t want to fit real fires or stoves (far too costly and I worry about pollution - we’re in a built-up area). Which brings me to just putting an electric one.

Where can I find a stylish one that doesn’t look a bit tacky?? I hate the ones with plastic logs!!!

Its an Edwardian house so I’d like something in keeping.

Any pointers? Thanks!!

We have an Everhot electric stove in our snug where there's no chimney for a real fire/wood burner.

At around £1500, it wasn't cheap (we have the more expensive model with the oven), but occasionally you see second hand ones for sale that are a bit less. They come in a myriad of colours!

Here's ours....

Oooh!! That is lovely @LibertyLily!! Probs a little out of my price range (as I need to replace 2 gas fires) but it’s very gorgeous.
