Rug that works with way patterned wallpaper

Edited to add that I’m not sure where the random “way” in the title came from…

I am struggling to find a rug that goes with this wallpaper. Ideally I would like an oriental style one but I’m thinking that would be too much? Size, preferably around 140 x 200 cm.
Sofa is forest green and so probably not a very green rug too!

I don't have any advice about rugs but I can certainly confirm that the WM paper is brilliant quality.

Whilst I do like a couple of the Dunelm examples linked by @TemporarilyCantDoMyself, personally with a floral wallpaper I'd not choose another floral pattern for the rug @Contig. The caveat being if one pattern is small scale by comparison to the other...and that's coming from a maximalist perspective 😉 An oriental rug would work better, imo.

Most of our rugs are antique/vintage and we've paired them with busily patterned wallpapers and curtains. But they tend to be either oriental or geometric (kilims). You could look at eBay, but it's a bit of a minefield when it comes to things like rugs. We've had success there in the past, but it's taken a lot of searching!

Alternatively, there are lots of contemporary coloured interpretations of oriental rugs about these days (from places like rugvista), but I imagine the quality won't be great with those. At least with Dunelm or John Lewis you can see examples in store.

Have you looked at Ruggable?
Also, why not put a photo of your room and the wall paper into ChatGPT and get some suggestions.
It's ok to mix pattern if your room can cope with it. But 140 x 200 is small so assuming your room is then be more cautious. Perhaps go for mixed textures instead. eg woven or tone on tone.

Thanks all for your suggestions. The room is actually quite big but we can’t go too close to the walls with a rug because the walls aren’t at all straight (old house), so it looks odd!
