Help me buy a mattress

I have been faffing around on what double mattress to buy for months now. Help! What is your no regret decision? I am a side sleeper.

A Sealy hybrid would be my recommendation. Go to a proper independent (not a chain) bed shop and try everything.

My advice too.
We ended up with a Hypnos wool mattress . 3 years on, no regrets. DH and I spent about 90 mons trying out different mattresses, and taking advice from the man in the shop who knew all sorts of stuff about what to think about, sleeping position etc to tell if a mattress would be comfortable all night after trying it for 5 mins.

I would just recommended that you don’t consider a Tempur mattress. I’m a side sleeper and spent ages lying on different mattresses in the shop before spending £1500 on a mattress. Ive had it for four years and I don’t think I’ve had a good night’s sleep on it yet. I wanted a really soft mattress but mine had been like a lump of concrete. I didn’t try to return it because the shop assured me that it would take a little while to soften up. After four years it’s just starting to feel a bit softer but has sagged in the middle. It’s also so heavy that I can’t rotate it on my own. It was a huge mistake and at that price Ive never been able to afford to replace it.

If you like a really firm mattress, otty. I LOVE mine. If you prefer a medium one, Emma. I was sceptical about mattresses in a box but you can return them if you don’t like them.
