Any regrets about choosing expensive porcelain tiles for a hallway?

im looking at this particular porcelain tile. They are very expensive, so wondering if anyone who has porcelain tiles in the hallway, any regrets?

Tiles have R ratings for safety (slipperiness). Check on the back or with the tile supplier what their rating is.

That’s a beautiful tile. We have giant 1 metre square porcelain tiles throughout the ground floor and we have never had one crack. Worth every penny as the house was transformed with them.

I wouldn’t rule out porcelain for a hallway, especially if you like the look and want something durable. I’d just make sure you choose an anti-slip finish, particularly for an area that gets wet and muddy.

As others said they can be extremely slippery when they are wet. they are easy to keep clean and they look very nice

yes that true but you can always go with anti slip with good rating R10-R11

this might be slightly helpful... I stayed in several places in Greece recently with broken floor tiles. I don't know what broke them, but they needed repair. From that experience I would make sure to buy about 10% more tiles on top of what you think to get the floor created, just so I had spares for someone to use to make repairs.

We have a large built in mat to take water from shoes and boots. Our tiles are limestone but could be slippery. However the inset rough pile mat really works.
