Help me with bathroom tile pattern ideas?

I’ve found a floor tile I love, and 2 wall tiles that pick up the floor tile colours. I’d quite like to use both wall tiles colours, but am finding it hard to decide how! I’m thinking I want the classic ‘brick’ layout as I feel like some current trends (herringbone, vertical, etc.) will look dated in a few years and I won’t be changing the bathroom ever once it’s done. Does anyone have any clever ideas as to how to use both the tile colours? It’s a small shower room, the shower enclosure walls will be full height tiled on all 3 sides, and the rest of the room will be tiled halfway up the walls, and then painted above that. I attach an online planner pic just to give rough layout plan - the shower won’t have glass walls all the way around, just a screen.

I also attach a pic of the tiles on a wall in the shop, and on my loo with the floor tile sample (half).

I like a vintage look, and a slightly country cottage vibe. Thanks very much for any ideas!

I agree with the classic brick layout.
I would use the beige as the primary wall tile. I would use the green as a border where it meets the wall outside the shower enclosure and as an outline of the shower enclosure itself (hope that makes sense). I think that would look really good and set off the floor tiles nicely.

agree with the above post (except the colours look like cream and blue/grey to me!)

It's going to look so nice - what colour are you thinking for the non-tiled portion of the walls?

Hello and thanks both! Yes, it is indeed a grey-blue colour. I will have a go at mocking up your suggestion, cheers. I’m thinking a very neutral shade for painting above. There will be a little old wooden table with a countertop basin and some wooden shelving too.

I’v e just spent 24 hrs trying to fathom something similar and decided on one colour going all the way to bath height and then doing above the bath the other colour. I got ChatGPT to help
me with the number of tiles and the exact height of bath to make it as crisp as possible

Topps Tiles has decent visualiser kit that lets you amend the pattern

And sorry to spam you, but Chatty Jeeps found the same tiles I was looking at much cheaper elsewhere. Means I will be able to have a meaningful discussion with the tile company about reviewing their price .

Almost the same 🤣

That floor tile is gorgeous @cushionfiend, would you mind sharing where it's from please as I'm looking for something similar for our lootility? Thank you 😊

I think I would just go with the cream alone. It feels a bit too matchy with the green and cream and floor, but that's my opinion. You could also go with just the green. My second choice would be to have green in the shower and everywhere else cream so it's in blocks. Definitely don't do a 'border' whatever you do. I think the 50:50 (bottom: top of room) is also a bit ugly and looks like an 80s public toilet.

In terms of the actual layout, there's so many options. You can overlap tiles horizontally by 50%, a third, 25%, 20% etc. It's best to order tiles and then lay out a decent section on the floor to see what you pattern you like. That's what my builder did and it changed my mind - I was going 50:50 but then went 20:80.

Hello - of course, it’s this one: https://capietra.com/aventuras-porto-blue-porcelain?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=20735085488&gbraid=0AAAAACB1oNR-YtQhTx-Tb2H1fLRl7MKIy&gclid=CjwKCAjw-dfOBhAjEiwAq0RwI7okd9nbOfDzRAWzGIN47c8m5EJkUv7hGo6ZlB4NuX4k2e5mkcRO_hoC2tEQAvD_BwE

it’s horribly expensive but luckily I have a tiny shower room so only need 3 square metres!

Ah, thank you so much 💐 Love Ca Pietra and used them at two previous houses. I should have guessed that's what it was. We need a similar amount so not too prohibitive!
